Marriage Registration Legal provisions

The registration of marriages to be solemnized in the state of Rajasthan is done under the Rajasthan Compulsory Registration of Marriages Act 2009 and a legal marriage certificate is issued by the Registrar (Registration of Marriages).
Under the provisions of 2009, the registration of marriage will be done by the registrar of the area concerned with the occurrence of the event of a marriage, or where the bride and groom are residing after marriage. Registration is also done with the registering officer of Provided that the bride and groom are residing in that area for at least 30 days before the date of application.

Marriage registration can be done at a fee of Rs.10 and Rs.100 after 30 days within 30 days of completion of the marriage.

Where to Apply For Marriage Certificate

For Rural Areas – The facility of marriage certificate registration is available at the Gram Panchayat headquarters at the village servant and ex-officio secretary and registrar (marriage registration).
For Urban Areas – The facility of registration is available at the Registrar (Marriage Registration) at the headquarters of the Municipality / Municipal Corporation / Municipal Council.
