Hiren Bhattacharya was born in 1932 in Jarhat district of Assam. His father was Tirthartha Bhattacharya and his mother was Snehalta Bhattacharya. His deity was a prisoner, and as a child he traveled all over Assam with his family and that was his first inspiration to become a poet. He died in Guwahati, Assam on July 4, 2012 at 11:30 am after a struggle for almost three months.
