Guru Purnima Pooja Vidhi
On this day, wake up early in the morning and take a bath with water containing Ganges water. After that wear clean clothes. Now make a Vyas-peeth at the place of worship at home and invoke the Guru with the following mantras.
“GuruparamparaSiddhayarthm Vyasapoojan Karishye”
Gururbrahma grururvishnuh gururdevo maheshwarah.
Guru: Sakshat Param Brahm Tasmai Sri Gurve Namah.
Now keep the picture of Guru and worship him with water, fruits, flowers, Durva, Akshat, incense-lamp etc. In the end, perform aarti and seek blessings from him by touching his feet. This fast is observed after sunrise and till the moon rises.
